Preparations for the fourth eFORESEE international conference on foresight are well underway and we can confirm an excellent programme of speakers (see attached updated programme) from the majority of Mediterranean countries currently engaged in foresight activities, including Egypte 2020, Tunisie 2030, Morocco euroProspective, Jordan Vision 2020, Israeli S&T Foresight, Greek Technology Foresight, Turkish Foresight as well as presentations on the Cyprus, Estonia, Malta, eForesee foresight projects. http://eforesee.info/conferencesandevents/malta2003/programme.pdf
The four Panel Sessions feature important contributions on different aspects of Mediterranean systems of innovation. The changing role of universities, new forms of public-private sector links, the social context of innovation and strategies for meeting the Lisbon and Barcelona 3% targets. The Panels are aimed at providing specific inputs on forms of collaboration that could be encouraged with Mediterranean countries to support the development of RTD and innnovation, particularly through the EU Commission's new Wider Neighbourhood Programme for the Mediterranean as well as FP6 and the INCO-Mediterranean Programme.
